Samuraisiant,

In this series, I was dealing only with the Kingdom of Heaven parables. I don't see anything in this parable that indicates that the bridegroom gave signs of his coming.

However, I don't disagree with you - other scriptures indicate that there will be signs of his coming. I wrote this post about two and a half years ago, I'm pretty sure I concluded all the KoH parables at the end of this series.

Thanks for commenting.

This parable does not teach that "Jesus is coming at any moment".

The parables of Mathew 24 and 25 clearly teach that a long time will pass before the Lord returns and that because of this there will be a tendency for people to become lazy and fall asleep. *THEN* those who are not watching and waiting for the signs of the Lords return will be caught off guard.

Jesus clearly teaches this in the gospels and Paul reaffirms this in his epistles. "immidiacy" has *NEVER* been taught in scripture. It is always taught that a long time will pass and because of the lazyness of people they will miss the signs and be caught by the Day of the Lord unaware.

The Faithful servant on the other hand is watching and waiting and looking for the signs and so knows that his Lords return is near and is prepared and not caught unawares.

What keeps his faithful servants prepared is not that Jesus could return at any moment and whisk them off the earth, but that they are constantly looking for the SIGNS of His eminent return. Jesus can return at any time *if* the signs of His return are met.

It is really to bad how much false doctrine has entered the Church and influenced the thinking of Christians. And all around the same time. thanks to men (who were masons) like Darby.
