I skipped cardio yesterday, I had to get my hair cut instead. What do you think?
Weight: 185.2 lbs
Waist: 37 inches
Had a great ab workout today… I did Oblique Floor Crunches and I reeeaaaaally felt it. I also listened to a podcast called FBN by Darin Hufford called “The Spirit of Antichrist”. If you like those sermons where a guy reads a passage of scripture and then talks for an hour about various things, then you’d like his podcast. Me? Not so much. It’s not that he was unscriptural in what he was saying… it’s just not my thing. I will definitely be unsubscribing from that one. I prefer conversational podcasts, not just one guy talking to me. Beyond the Box really needs to put out more podcasts to fit my schedule :). I also checked out a podcast called, “The Voice of the Heretics,” it was pretty good. I just listened to the latest one, I’ll check out the older episodes though.
My wife is also away on a cruise with her mom this week. They’re having a blast – meanwhile I’m stuck home with 9 anxious animals and it’s raining outside so they want to be all up in my grill :).

Week two of Body for Life was much better than Week 1. A lot less soreness and even a little muscle gain (I think). Since Monday was Labor day I mowed the lawn, which I treated as my cardio (which should have been on Tuesday) – so I skipped Tuesday altogether. I did this for a couple reasons First, I had to respond to a couple of work related issues during lunch. Second, I didn’t really want to do two weight lifting days in a row. So Week 3 is going to be a day light, but that’s ok – I like to spice things up sometimes :).

I’ve successfully finished week 1 of my Body for Life training and have begun week 2. Week 1 was a miserable experience! I had not seriously worked out in a long time and had all the pain associated with lifting weights. I could not move for a whole week. But that week is over and now it is just normal workout fatigue. I am still trying to get into the swing of things and I definitely cannot lift as much as I once could. I spent a lot of time listening to Steve Sensinig and Raborn Johnson from Beyond the Box while I worked out and watched a few episodes of Film Riot and Scam School on my cardio days. I think I will need to subscribe to some more podcasts to keep things interesting while I work out.
As of today, I weigh 187.2 lbs and my waist is 37 inches. By the way, a co-worker did not believe me that my waist last week was 38 inches. But I am measuring it the traditional way, around the belly button. My actual pant’s waist is about 34 inches – a little less ;).

I’ve started a new weight training program called Body for Life. Right now I am just going to do the Weight Training / Cardio, not the Eat for Life program.
Every week I’m going to post about my progress with the program. My goal is to use available time (lunch break) to try to be more fit and hopefully more healthy. I completed the first day today, the cycle is:
Day 1: Upper Body Training
Day 2: Cardio
Day 3: Lower Body Training
Day 4: Cardio
Day 5: Upper Body Training
Day 6: Cardio
Day 7: Rest
Currently my waist is 38″ and I weigh 186 lbs. I hope to post every Monday with new stats and information about the previous week’s workouts. Also, today I listened to two Beyond the Box podcasts while I lifted weights.
