I was asked to write an essay arguing that Christians are free to participate in the horror genre for Zombie Theology. Two other authors wrote differing views, Christians can participate in horror genres with limitations and Christians should NOT participate in horror genres. I would hardly consider myself a Zombiphile but I started watching horror films when I was very young. I think what a lot of Christians do not understand about the horror genre is that often times there is a lesson to be learned or a philosophy being told. Yes, there are some horror stories out there that are purely gratuitous violence or are completely unredeemable, but that can be found outside of the horror genre and are usually not very popular. The popular horror stories speak to their audience in one way or another. In my article, I discuss how even god uses horror and how horror can be found in the pages of scripture. Can Christians participate in horror? Yes, I believe we can.

So, head on over to Zombie Theology to read my essay and the other differing views mentioned above.
