If Jesus told us to render to Caesar what is Caesar’s, why do we make our organizations non-profit and/or tax-free?

Lew,
If a “tax-free” organization is legal, then it is “Caesar” that declared it so. In other words, Caesar has declared that these tax monies do not belong to Caesar.
Gary
“Caesar” made the church tax-free because he did not want to be seen as taking money from God.
I wonder if it would not be better to remain taxed… and thus not be in Caesar’s pocket.
Lew
By the way, I believe the ACLU is trying to force the church to be taxed.
Yep, the ACLU wants “Caesar” to run the church. Anything to do with God, the ACLU dislikes.
BTW, you have a great looking blog here.

BigDadGib,
Yeah, but I think I’m actually with the ACLU on this… in fact, I think it would be the perfect counter-strike. They want us to lose our non-profit status, let’s show them that our non-profit status has nothing to do with how well we can minister.
Thanks for visiting my blog and for complimenting it!
God’s Glory,
Lew
